This Public House has early 19th century elevations, one feature being a segmental headed archway allowing access to the rear from the street.
A number of shops stood on the site of the large shop at 33 to 37 High Street adjacent to the Old White Horse.
One such property was a clothing and general store owned by Mr Ager. He catered for country folk who would come into town from outlying villages.
Similar small shops stood on the National Westminster Bank site.
All were demolished in the 1960's.
