The Society was formed in 1964 and is registered with the Civic Trust.
The aims of the Society are:
- To promote high standard of planning and architecture in the area of benefit.
- To educate the public in the geography, history, natural history and architecture in the area of benefit.
- To secure the preservation, protection, development and improvement of features of public or historic interest in the area of benefit.
Meetings and other events are arranged during the period March to November each year.
Newsletters are circulated to all members three times a year.
Family membership is £4.00 per annum and £2 50 for single members.
